Service Description

Eyebrow tinting is the process of applying semi-permanent dye to enhance, shape, and define your brows. It gives the appearance of thicker, more youthful looking brows. Eyebrow tinting works on skin types, skin tones, and hair colours. We're not making brows darker, we’re just matching your natural colour. Your eyebrows will look defined without a slick of makeup. Tinting makes your brows look thicker, darker and longer, and the added structure adds volume to sparser brows. Eyelash Tinting gives the eyes definition and lets you go without mascara, at least for a few weeks until eyelashes fall out and are replaced by new ones (this happens naturally whether they’re tinted or not). We will also shape up your eyebrows by threading. AT THE SALON You’ll first consult with our specialist to discuss how full and natural you want your brows and/or lashes to look. You can choose a colour which compliments or contrasts with your hair and eye colour and skin tone. If you’re a contact lens wearer, you will have to remove them. Then the specialist will prep the area, cleaning the brows and applying a thin layer of petroleum jelly around them to prevent any accidental skin staining. The dye is then mixed and carefully applied, first in the direction of how your brow hairs grow and then a second layer is applied in the opposite direction. You shut your eyes, and the tint is applied to lashes with a fine brush, and allowed to set for at least 10 minutes. With your eyes still shut, we begin to remove the dye with a cotton pad dampened with water. This might take a few minutes of gentle strokes and several pads. The dye is left on for a few minutes to attain optimal colour, then any excess is removed with a damp paper towel. If you see dye on the skin underneath your brows, that will wash away after a day or two. It might be a good idea to schedule your first appointment on a Friday, so you can monitor the results over the weekend. AFTERWARDS The effect lasts for around 6 weeks - the time it takes for the hair to grow or fall out. A strong look will require a more frequent maintenance. You’ll want to avoid getting your brows wet for 12 hours after getting the treatment done and to clean around the area with gel or cream-based cleansers. Your brows will stand out and look fuller right away. The tint lasts anywhere from three to six weeks.
